"Can I Borrow Your Shoes?" is a piece based on a conversation I had with a close friend of mine. The shoes drawn in the piece have been the point of a lot of our conversations as well as 'our' wardrobe. We completely and totally share every item of clothing, jewelry, and shoes. The sentence 'can I borrow..." is a sentence constantly used in our conversations. These are a pair of his converse that I have customized for him. They barely fit on me and look like clown shoes, but never the less I always borrow them. They are representative of our friendship. Without him in my life, life would not be as interesting. Everyone needs that go-to person who they can go to. It is necessary to have someone that you always can trust to be there and know that they will always console you or even just be there just to borrow their shoes.
